Cro-Stash Along- Week 3

Need a hug? This week’s free de-stashing pattern is a hug! Its super simple to work up, quick, seamless, and img_4938oh-so-fun!! Make a bunch and give them to friends or family that just need a reminder that you’re thinking of them. I made one for my son and he LOVES it! I can’t wait to see all the hugs you make!

What You’ll Need:

G hook, WW yarn (in 1-2 colors), Small button, Safety eyes, Stitch Marker, Yarn needle for weaving in ends and sewing button

Notes:

  • Pattern is worked in the round without joining. Stitch markers are highly recommended!
  • To fasten arms, you can use buttons, Velcro or snaps
  • Gauge is not critical to this project

Pattern:

R1: In Magic Ring, sc 6

R2: 2sc in each st (12)

R3: **sc in next st, 2sc in next** (18)

R4: **sc in next 2, 2sc in next** (24)

R5: **sc in next 3, 2sc in next** (30)

R6-8: sc in each stitch (30)

R9: sc next 14, cluster in next 2 st, sc last 14 (30)

R10-11: sc in each st (30)

R12: sc next 6, ch 4, sk 4, sc next 10, ch 4, sk 4, sc last 6

R13: sc in each st (including each ch st) (30)

R14: sc in each st (30)

If using multiple colors, change color here

R15-17: sc in each st around (30)

First leg:

R18: sc next 7, ch 1, sk next 15 (you’ll be inserting your hook in the stitch across from your current stitch) and continue to sc last 8 st (15)

R19-20: sc in each st around (15)

R21: **dec across next 2 stitches, sc in next** rpt (10)img_4944

R22: dec around (5)

Cut yarn, leaving long tail to weave through last 5 stitches

 

Second leg:

Rejoin yarn in an unworked skipped stitch from R18.

R18-20: sc in each st around (15)

R21: **dec across next 2 stitches, sc in next** rpt (10)

R22: dec around (5)

Cut yarn, leaving long tail to weave through last 5 stitches

Rejoin yarn in one of the chain spaces from R12

R1: sc in each st (8)

R2-15: dc in each st around (8) (For longer arms, continue to repeat until desired length, then continue to R16)

R16: dec around (4)

Cut yarn, leaving long tail to weave through last 4 stitches

Repeat for second arm

 

Button: Sew small button toward tip of arm. Use the space between the dcs as buttonhole. Alternately, you can use Velcro or sew on snaps.
