I love headbands! I like the style they give without too much fuss or effort. So needless to say, I made a headband! I love the simplicity of this one, the pattern is easy and quick but the end result has lots of texture and, my favorite, a button (I love buttons too)!

What you need:
I hook (This one’s my favorite!)
Yarn needle for weaving in ends and sewing button
As worked in pattern, 8hdc x 5 rows = 2”
Finished headband measures about 24” with 2-3” overlap of button
R1: Ch 9, hdc in 2nd ch from hook and across (8)
R2: ch 1, hdc in front 3rd loop of st across (8)
R3: Ch 1, hdc across (8)
R4-53: Rpt R2-3 alternating (note: you’ll be ending on a R2 rpt)
R54: hdc dec, hdc next 4, hdc dec (6)
R55: hdc front 3rd loop across (6)
R56: hdc dec, hdc next 2, hdc dec (4)
R57: hdc in front 3rd loop, ch 2, sk 2, hdc front 3rd loop of last st
Continuing down side of headband, sc evenly across, placing 2 sc in corner, turn and continue sc up side, placing 2sc in corner. Turn and continue sc evenly across, placing 2sc in corner, turn and sc in next hdc, sc3 in ch sp, sc last hdc, join to next st with sl st. Fasten off.
On side opposite buttonhole, sew button around R8-9 (or however you prefer your sizing).
Weave in all ends.
