Mini Tote and Blog Hop!

Introducing the Summer Breeze Mini-Tote!

A new Round of Battle of the Stitches is here! I’m so excited!! When we first decided on the stitch, I realized that I had no idea what I would design with it. My original thought was a sweater, but then the weather took a turn for the hot and I knew that was out of the question! I wanted something practical, useful and something that made sense for Southern California spring and summer. So I came up with a bag!

Here are some of my favorite features. The bag has a pocket in the back panel, allowing you to put your wallet, a book, or, if you’re like me, that backup diaper and wipes for the little one! The strap is built into the bag, not just sewn onto the top, making this bag extra sturdy. Also, the stitch is an open one, so there are two layers to this bag, allowing for some amazing color work. Take a look:

Do you see the color peeking through? I love the look and the various color options!

The stitch is the Slanted Puff Stitch, a fun versatile stitch that has so many looks! Check out the stitch tutorial here. Personally, I’m a visual learner, so I used this chart (used by permission from Crafting Friends Designs) for reference.

Now, here’s the fun part! We need to know who’s design is the favorite! It’s your turn to vote and win! If you love my design, go to the Ravelry listing here And click on the heart to favorite it! Want to buy it? Use code BOS13 to get it for 50% off (good through March 31).

Then, when you’re ready, head over to Ambassador Crochet’s page and check out her design!! I think you’re going to love it! After you finish the blog hop, there’s a rafflecopter to enter to win all of this rounds designs!! Check out this post for more details on the blog hop!

Want more ways to win? Comment on this post with the colors you’d make this bag in and I’ll pick 2 winners to win 5 patterns each from my Raverly shop!

  1. Ooh, I’m thinking rainbow against black, for a spectrum look (but as a gift for a friend). I like how yours has turned out, so maybe that could up the contrast….or maybe alternate opposite colours, like orange and teal, for a really wild look! Hehe!

  2. This is so cute! And I love the idea of the back panel pocket. If I were to make this I would probably use gray and pink. I’m boring but I love those colors

  3. I instantly bought this pattern as I saw it on ravelry. – I like your colours, but perhaps I crochet mine in rainbow colours.

  4. All Pastels for Spring! Pink, Lilac, Yellow, Mint Green and for the 5th colour, it’s a toss up between a blue or orange… probably the palest of orange. Very nice entry, good luck!
